Take the Safe Driver Pledge - It's a Win-Win, Win, Win.
Car accidentsare the top cause of teen deaths, mostly due to distractions and inexperience. Teens who pledge to be safe drivers understand how to avoid common mistakes that lead to accidents. While that’s certainly the main reason we are asking you to support the Safe Driver Pledge, it’s not the only one.
Teens who take the Safe Driver Pledge online with their parents understand how to avoid the common mistakes and distractions that lead to car accidents – the #1 cause of teen deaths. The more teen drivers who take the pledge, the safer the roads are for them and for everyone else. So everybody wins.
Participants are also eligible to win some pretty cool electronic gadgets. Parents and teens who sign the pledge together will be entered in a drawing for one of 14 Nintendo Wiis – another great way to bring families closer.
But because moms, dads and their children generally have different tastes – especially in music – we’re also giving away 90 pairs of iPod Shuffles and more than 200 pairs of iTune cards. While we expect unity when it comes to driving safety – we fully respect each group’s need to march to a different drummer (or rock to a different band).
The school with the most teen-parent pledges wins $25,000 to spend however they wish. Second prize is $10,000. Third prize is $5,000. Couldn't your school use a little extra cash?
